Once you connect with Remote Desktop (RDP), the server is ready to use.

Change the password

It is recommended to change the password right away:

Ctrl + Alt + End → Change password

Install a browser

Internet Explorer is there by default.

You can install:

• Google Chrome
• Mozilla Firefox

Basic settings

• Set the time zone
• Check Windows Updates
• Install the software you need

Security

• Do not share your RDP access
• Use a strong password
• Restrict access by IP (if possible)
